Smart Commute Hamilton

Smart Commute Hamilton works to help employees at registered employers green their commutes through opportunities such as carpooling, transit, and cycling. Hamilton CarShare participates in the Smart Commute Hamilton Transportation Management Association, which brings together Smart Commute employers and transportation stakeholders in the community.

Hamilton Climate Change Action Charter

Hamilton CarShare is a signatory to the Hamilton Climate Change Action Charter, joining local government, post-secondary institutions, businesses and organizations who are taking action on climate change.

Friends of Community CarShare

The co-op works with a variety community organizations, many of whom are already recognized in other sections of the website as Corporate Members, Parking Providers, and Funders. Here are a few others with whom we collaborate:

Central Ontario Co-operative Housing Federation

The Central Ontario Co-operative Housing Federation, or COCHF, shares its Kitchener office space with CarShare. The two co-ops put Co-operative Principle #6 into practice – Co-operation Among Co-operatives. Office resources such as the photocopier and Internet service are shared as well.

OPIRG McMaster holds an Associate Membership in Hamilton CarShare, and helps promote Hamilton CarShare at McMaster University.

Climate Action Niagara

Climate Action Niagara holds an Associate Membership in Niagara CarShare, and helps promote the co-op in Niagara Region.

Environment Hamilton

Hamilton CarShare attends many events organized by Environment Hamilton, which works to educate citizens about how to protect and enhance the environment.

Reduce The Juice

Reduce The Juice has helped to promote carsharing in Waterloo Region since 2009. Reduce The Juice is a youth-led organization which works to educate people about ways they can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

Mennonite Savings and Credit Union
