Community Projects
Besides providing a carsharing service to the community, Community CarShare also works to give back! Here are some recent CarShare community projects.
| November 2010 – Movember |
- Half a dozen Grand River CarShare staff and members got together to form a Movember team. “MoShare” raised $655 for prostate cancer research.

| July 2010 – CarShare Fights Cancer |
- Grand River CarShare members donated gently used items for a CarShare Fights Cancer garage sale, held outside the co-op’s office at the Kitchener Farmer’s Market. The garage sale raised more than $200, and the few leftover items were donated to Value Village.

| October 2009 – reThink Waterloo |

Grand River CarShare acted as a platinum sponsor for the 2009 reThink Waterloo event, a day-long public forum to promote sustainability in Waterloo Region. David Suzuki (pictured on the left) presented as the keynote speaker and was also made an honorary member of Grand River CarShare by Jason Hammond, the co-op’s president (pictured on the right). The co-op was also featured in the transportation section of the Seven Generations Challenge, which was put together by Waterloo Region high school students.
